What to Photograph When Identifying an Automatic Door Controller
Most bad surplus buys start with incomplete photos. Capture identity and condition evidence before you bid, list, or request identification help.
Minimum photo set
Full assembly / board in context (enclosure if present).
Manufacturer / brand label close-up.
Part-number or type designation sticker close-up.
Revision / silkscreen markings.
Connector edge (keyed plugs, pin counts, missing housings).
Operator or header model plate when the control is still on a door package.
Obvious damage: burns, corrosion, cracked plastic, missing modules.
Photo tips that actually help
Avoid heavy crop that cuts off sticker edges.
Use glare control so silkscreen text is readable.
Include a second angle of connectors — end-on shots beat top-down alone.
If modules are removable, photograph them seated and any empty sockets.
What not to send
Customer names, site addresses, or job paperwork.
Employer internal manuals or private price sheets.
Requests for bypass, safety defeat, or repair procedures — AutoDoor Atlas will not provide those.
